CITY of BALANGA, Bataan - During the conclusion of the 2-day Property Assessment & Tax Administration System (PATAS) Users’ Training held at the Crown Royale Hotel, this city on November 9-10, computer hardwares from Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc. were distributed to the eleven municipalities of the Province.
The Municipal Assessors and Treasurers of the eleven municipalities together with their municipal mayors received the computer hardwares, wherein a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Provincial Government and the system provider, Geodata.
Another Memorandum of Agreement was also signed during said event, between the Land Registration Authority (LRA), represented by no less than Region 3 LRA Administrator, Eulalio C. Diaz and Gov. Albert S. Garcia for the Provincial Government of Bataan. Also present were the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Vice Governor Efren Pascual, Jr, Board Members Gaudencio Ferrer, Dante Manalaysay, Jose Villapando, Rolando Tigas, Reynaldo Ibe and Aristotle Gaza. The municipal mayors of Orani (Benjie Serrano), Mariveles (Jesse Concepcion), Limay (Lilver Roque), Abucay (Ana Santiago) and Pilar (Alice Pizarro) also witnessed said event.
Using the PATAS and the digital data provided by the LRA, the province could now have a GIS base map, with complete parcel maps that would be of great help not only to the Assessors but in the land use planning as well. Governor Albert S. Garcia, in his message expressed his gratitude to these “frontliners” in tax assessment and collection for continuously performing their jobs well.
In attendance are the Assessors and Treasurers of the eleven municipalities of the province. The Provincial and Municipal Assessors are in charge in the discovery, classification, appraisal, assessment and valuation of all real properties in the province, which serve as the basis for taxation and collection by the Provincial and Municipal Treasurers.
