The Provincial Government of Rizal has awarded to Geodata Solutions, Inc. the computerization of theirProperty Assessment and Tax Administration.

The Province believes that the PATAS System will provide the LGU with higher revenue in property tax collections through the accurate entry of assessments and payments; and the ease in use of the system. The LGU will soon offer its constituents better and faster services.

Geodata Solutions, Inc. has provided and installed the software for Real Property System with General Revision at the Provincial Assessor's Office. it has also conducted trainings on PATAS attended by the Heads / Personnel from the Provincial Assessor's Office, the Office of the Provincial Treasurer, and the Management Information System.

Bataan goes Hi-Tech with Automated Tax Assessment

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan - During the conclusion of the 2-day Property Assessment & Tax Administration System (PATAS) Users’ Training held at the Crown Royale Hotel, this city on November 9-10, computer hardwares from Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc. were distributed to the eleven municipalities of the Province.

The Municipal Assessors and Treasurers of the eleven municipalities together with their municipal mayors received the computer hardwares, wherein a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Provincial Government and the system provider, Geodata.

Another Memorandum of Agreement was also signed during said event, between the Land Registration Authority (LRA), represented by no less than Region 3 LRA Administrator, Eulalio C. Diaz and Gov. Albert S. Garcia for the Provincial Government of Bataan. Also present were the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Vice Governor Efren Pascual, Jr, Board Members Gaudencio Ferrer, Dante Manalaysay, Jose Villapando, Rolando Tigas, Reynaldo Ibe and Aristotle Gaza. The municipal mayors of Orani (Benjie Serrano), Mariveles (Jesse Concepcion), Limay (Lilver Roque), Abucay (Ana Santiago) and Pilar (Alice Pizarro) also witnessed said event.

Using the PATAS and the digital data provided by the LRA, the province could now have a GIS base map, with complete parcel maps that would be of great help not only to the Assessors but in the land use planning as well. Governor Albert S. Garcia, in his message expressed his gratitude to these “frontliners” in tax assessment and collection for continuously performing their jobs well.

In attendance are the Assessors and Treasurers of the eleven municipalities of the province. The Provincial and Municipal Assessors are in charge in the discovery, classification, appraisal, assessment and valuation of all real properties in the province, which serve as the basis for taxation and collection by the Provincial and Municipal Treasurers.

Geodata's President Mr. Albert Morales and GIS Programmer/Analyst Mr. Francis Sacdalan, attended the recent Futura Asia Pacific-2009 User Conference at the Centara Grand Convention Center, in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference was hosted by Citilabs Inc., a software development firm which develops and offers "CUBE", an integrated suite of transportation planning software used around the globe. "CUBE" is integrated to the world's standard in GIS software-ArcGIS software of ESRI. "CUBE" offers a seamlessly integrated travel forecasting, traffic simulation and transportation GIS software suite.

Other "CUBE" users and enthusiasts were from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The week-long conference covered lectures, plenary sessions, and discussions on transportation modeling Asia Experience, land use and transportation, traffic microsimulation, public transportation, freight forecasting, and advanced travel demand modeling.

The conference was designed to familiarize new users of the "CUBE" software with its modules and its functionalities. And to help users gain knowledge of procedures to maximize the potentials and benefits of the system. It gave participants of the conference the opportunity to learn from industry experts and peers. Long-time users of "CUBE" staged a presentation, and shared the best practices being implemented in their respective country that showcased the outstanding results in terms of transportation forecasting and planning.

Keynote speakers in the conference were Citilab'sTraining Director, Mr. Colby Brown, and Mr. Michael Clarke, President. They discussed topics such as Scenario Analysis, Editing & Mapping with "CUBE", Model Development with "CUBE" Base, Travel Demand Forecasting with "CUBE" Voyager. Technical Software Presentation & Demos of all modules in the "CUBE" were also shown.

Highlight of the conference was the introduction of Citilab's newest models, the "Mint" and "Sugar". "Mint" is a web based application developed with "CUBE" that multiple client can run or test the model to obtain, analyze and map the data through the web. "Sugar" is a Transportation planning and operation suite for ArcGIS. "Sugar" can be embedded in ArcGIS Software that uses similar functionalities of "CUBE"


The Philippines was chosen as the site for this year's Esri Asia Pacific User Conference (APUC) based on the rapid growth of the adoption of GIS technology in the country and in the Asia Pacific Region. The APUC was held last January 26 & 27, 2011 at the EDSA Shangrila Hotel in Mandaluyong City.

The two-day conference was well attended by more than 700 practitioners, managers, project managers, consultants, educators of geographic information system (GIS), IT professionals, decision makers, and users of GIS from various sectors around the Philippines and in the Asia Pacific region.

Also in attendance were the various distributors of Esri in the Asia Pacific region, namely, Esri South Asia, Esri Japan, Esri Korea, Esri Thailand, Esri China (Beijing) Ltd., Eagle Technology Group Ltd. Of New Zealand, Esri Australia, and NIIT Technologies Pte. Ltd. of India.

With the theme 'One Community, One Map', the conference focused on the need for national and community mapping programs to provide a common map framework by which governments and organizations in the Asia Pacific region can build and share consistent, authoritative, current physical social, political, cultural, economic and environmental information for any geographical area of interest or community.

Participants and delegates were treated to various technical presentations and discussions on the applications of GIS in various industries and fields such as: utilities and communications, agriculture, public safety, emergency response, disaster management, defense and intelligence, environment, natural resources, energy, transportation and logistics.

An added attraction was the Exhibit Hall that displayed information and technologies from companies like NAVTEQ, NIIT Technologies, New Zealand Aerial Mapping Ltd, MWH Soft, Trimble, ARCHIBUS Inc, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) of the Philippines. A map gallery and a demo theatre were also featured.

The keynote speaker for the event was no less than the Founder and Esri President Jack Dangermond, a pioneer in spatial analysis methods. Mr. Dangermond spoke about the growing role and the new modality that GIS is assuming in science, in government, in public safety and security, in commerce and finance, in telecommunications, and in National Defense. He encouraged the participants to create a community of GIS professionals and to come up with "one map” that will dynamically bring all the geographic information together. Mr. Dangermond was also joined by two keynote speakers from the government sector; Secretary Ivan John E. Uy of the Philippines' Commission on Communications and Information Technology (CICT), who discussed “E-governance Programs and the Importance of GIS in National Initiatives" and by Administrator Peter N. Tiangco, Ph.D, of NAMRIA, who presented his topic "Towards the Establishment of the Philippine Spatial Data Infrastructure (PSDI)".

This well-organized and successful was arranged by Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc., a sister company of Geodata Solutions Inc.
